Gifs and Memes

Gifs and Memes are a fundamental part of how we communicate with each other in this technological age. And as I continue to update this blog, it’s clear that movies, games and TV shows are an abundant source of these little gems. With that in mind, I’ve decided to dedicate a new category to this cultural phenomenon. In this introduction post, I will define Gifs and Memes separately and tell you how I plan to include them on T-Man’s Movie Reviews!

Gifs are bite sized clips taken from visual media, usually depicting a specific emotion or common gesture. They are easy to consume, but most importantly, they are engaging and can help convey your feelings at any given time. Have you ever seen a post telling you to respond using only gifs? On this blog, I will highlight the gifs I use regularly and when I like to use them!

Memes are similar to gifs in the sense that they can relay a lot of information at once, but there are differences. Memes are pictures with either captions or words and are usually humorous in nature. On this blog, I will use the meme format to highlight my favorite film and tv quotes!

The line between Gifs and Memes is increasingly blurred, with hybrids of the two becoming more and more common. Regardless, these forms of interaction are prevalent in our daily lives and some are worth a closer look. Join me as I dive head first into the vast world of Gifs and Memes!
